Good morning Patriots: Americas Freedom Tribute traveling wall is a memorial that goes across the United States every year. It honors our military’s fallen hero’s since the birth of this great nation. My name is Rita Goodwin and I hosted this wall 14 years ago. I was contacted by the corporate office in Texas to see if I would host it again? Why me I asked? They said for one reason, they got such positive recognition and feedback when it was here. The second thing they told me they had four new tributes added since I hosted it the first time, May 2010. Then they proceeded to tell me about the updates included: the 9/11 tribute, Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia tribute. Then she told me one thing that made my heart hurt, 58,000 names have been added. Folks to me that’s way too many men and women, sons and daughters, grandchildren, a Mom or Dad that didn’t make it home. I spoke to a few other people thinking I was just crazy to do this? The answer I got wasn’t the answer I was expecting. Why did you wait so long? So I’m here tonight / today to ask for your prayers to help my team and I to pull this event off. To honor those names that are on the wall! One other item I’ve prayed about that is dear to my heart is the lives of “Our First Responders!” Yes, law enforcement, (all branches) firefighters, EMS, Care flight pilots and our K-9 units! I feel my goal is to reach out to as many individuals or groups to share this information, but mostly to remind our families and friends ” the cost is too great and “Freedom Is Not Free.!” Thank you. The cost to host just the wall is $11,500. As of today, the balance we must raise is $5,500 which has to be paid upfront by September 20th. Our goal after that is secured, is $100,000- 200,000. To support all our Military, 1st Responders, K-units and guest speakers. The date we secured for this event is June 5-9-2025. At Concordia, Kansas Armory.
